2016 World Car of the Year

A double win for Mazda - 2016 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year at the World Car of the Year Awards at the Javits Center in Manhattan, NY March 24, 2016.The Mazda MX-5 has just been named 2016 World Car of the Year, beating out the Audi A4 and Mercedes GLC. And the 2016 Mazda MX-5 also won the World Car Design of the Year award, which was up against its sibling, the Mazda CX-3, and the Jaguar XE.  This is the first Japanese car to win this award.

Mazda also debuted the 2016 MX-5 RF (retractable fastback) at the New York International Auto Show
